North High threat was unfounded

February 23, 2009

North Hagerstown High School was locked down Monday while police investigated a threat that turned out to be untrue.

Hagerstown Police Lt. Mike King said someone called 911 with a threat of danger that referred to the school. He did not want to publicize specific details of the threat.

After checking the school and watching videotape from cameras there, police determined that the threat was a false alarm, King said.

For about 45 minutes, while the threat was investigated, no one was allowed in or out of the school without an escort.
