Hagerstown Children's School holds food drive

February 22, 2009

Hagerstown Children's School recently partnered with Food Resources Inc. for the months of January and February to help restock shelves of the local food bank.

The school's goal is to collect more than 720 nonperishable food items. Children were able to wear a funny hat, their pajamas, mix-matched shoes and silly socks when they brought in an item for the food bank.

The school, on South Potomac Street in downtown Hagerstown, is a nonprofit, private preschool and kindergarten serving children, ages 2 to 5 in the Hagerstown area as well as West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The school has 127 students who attend at various times during the day and week.

The school is accepting registrations for the school year, which starts in September. There are still spaces available in the pre-primary classroom serving 2-year-olds and the primary classroom for preschool children ages 3 to 5.
