MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Deborah Annette Pifer Elliott, 54, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at her home.

Born Dec. 23, 1954, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Shirley Swartz Penwell and the late Mason M. Pifer. She was raised by her grandmother, Winona Pifer.

She was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson High School and attended Shepherd College.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church in Charles Town, W.Va.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Allen W. "Tugie" Elliott Jr.; one daughter, Jordan E. Hasenbuhler of Jacksonville, N.C.; one son, Daniel M. Elliott of Martinsburg; two sisters, Ann Marshall and Shelby Willard; two brothers, Doug Bowling and Mark Bowling; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Hannah E. Elliott.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oakland United Methodist Church, Charles Town. The Rev. Joanne Alexander and the Rev. Kent Tice will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.


The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
