Pedestrian struck by car

FREDERICK, Md. -- A Libertytown, Md., man was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore Friday night after he was struck by a car on Md. 26 near the Libertytown Post Office, according to a press release from Maryland State Police in Frederick.

Stephen Hoover, 49, was listed in serious condition as of Friday at 10 p.m., troopers said.

Hoover was walking across Md. 26 about 6:30 p.m. when he was struck, troopers said.

Hoover was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident, troopers said.

Pedestrian error is believed to have caused the accident, troopers said.
