Preps Area Roundup -- Whiteside scores 25 as Indians advance

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. -- Brooke Whiteside tallied a career-high 25 points -- four more than Meyersdale scored -- as the No. 3 Indians rolled to a 55-21 victory in their PIAA District 5 Class A tournament opener Wednesday.

Natasha Bard added nine points, 10 rebounds and four steals for Southern Fulton (21-2), which advances to meet Berlin on Friday at a site to be determined.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Amber Booher paced Berkeley Springs with 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists as the Indians ended their regular season with a win at Washington.

Harlie Stotler tallied 11 points and eight rebounds, while Deidra Burch had 10 points and eight steals for the Indians (16-5).

Cari Armel had eight points for the Patriots (2-18).

Dewey McDonald had 19 points -- including five 3-pointers -- to go with six rebounds and four steals for the Cougars (11-7). Dillon Regalia had 18 points, four steals and four rebounds, and Casey Johnson added 10 points and 10 assists.
