He served in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
He was a member of Evergreen Lodge 153 F&AM of Berlin, Md. and Acacia Lodge 586 F&AM of Waynesboro, Pa.
In retirement, he attended Golf Works School in Newark, Ohio, specializing in golf club repair and clubmaking.Â He was accredited as a "Class A" clubmaker and was a working member of the Professional Clubmaker Society.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy J. Love Craven, whom he married Oct. 2, 1975; three children, William B. Craven of Clearbrook, Va., Lynn C. Graham of Berryville, Va. and David L. Craven of Vienna, Va.; one stepdaughter, Jennifer L. Brooks of Lovettsville, Va.; one stepson, F.M. Love of Winchester, Va.; one brother, Lewis Craven of Bainbridge, Pa.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
Burial will be private.
