February 19, 2009

A Hagerstown man has been charged in a Feb. 9 burglary at a Roessner Avenue home in which a Ruger .357 revolver and cash were stolen, according to a Washington County Sheriff's Department press release.

Brandon Samuel Orem, 24, whose last known address was 18639 Northaven St., was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary and other charges, deputies said.

Orem, a nephew of one of the victims, was released from the Washington County Detention Center Saturday after posting $25,000 bail, deputies said.

Victims in the case said their home was broken into while they were away. The house was broken into through a window, and neighbors saw a white vehicle in the area at the time, deputies said.
