MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Edward Eugene Lowe, 58, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at City Hospital.

Born May 2, 1950 in Olney, Md., he was the son of the late Gilbert E. Lowe and Virginia Yokley Lowe Cable.

He was the former owner and operator of Ed Lowe Sheet Metal.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Marines and a member of AMVETS.

He was a member of the VA Medical Center Chapel.

He is survived by three sons, William Swann, of Coeburn, Va., Allen Lowe and Zackhery Lowe, both of Falling Waters, W.Va.; two daughters, Julie Swann of Falling Waters and Lorisue of Walkersville, Md.; two sisters, Leslie Lowe of Germantown, Md. and Barbara Rosen of Hedgesville, W.Va.; three brothers, Mark E. Lowe of Martinsburg, Ronald R. Lowe of New Market, Md. and Timothy T. Lowe Sr., of Hedgesville; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances VanGeison Lowe; five brothers, William Lowe, Mitchell Lowe, James Lowe, Richard Lowe and Gilbert Lowe and one sister, Rebecca Soper.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Chaplain Steve Jenks will officiate. Military graveside services will be held at Tomahawk Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
