Sara "Sis" Lou Dayhoff, 67, of 715 Georgia Ave., Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Saturday, Jan. 3, 1942, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Henry Franklin Burkett and Doris Margaret Ashby Burkett.

She was employed by Metropolitan Insurance Co., retiring after many years of service.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church in Greencastle, Pa.

Sis, along with her husband, Jerry, enjoyed traveling throughout the country since her retirement.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry W. Dayhoff; one daughter, Yvonne "Vonnie" M. McLaughlin, and husband, Stephen, of Boonsboro, Md.; three brothers, James R. Burkett of Greencastle, Kenneth F. Burkett of Greencastle and Richard W. Burkett of Greencastle; two grandchildren, Brad M. McLaughlin of Hagerstown and Heather M. Dillow of Boonsboro; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kamryn of Boonsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, 3664 Coseytown Road, Greencastle, with the Rev. Lester E. Kauffman officiating.

Family will receive friends at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church Cemetery, Greencastle.
