CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - John A. Kendall, 75, of Browns Mill Road, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at his home.
Born March 19, 1933, in Jacksonburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Glenn and Blanche Jackson Kendall.
He worked as a carpenter for 25 years for Brechbill and Helman Construction Co. in Chambersburg.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Heidelberg Church in Marion, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly V. Dorty Kendall, whom he married Feb. 28, 1953; three daughters, Michele M. Alvarez of Marion, Pa., Tammy L. Myers of Carlisle, Pa., and Jill K. Oberholzer of Waynesboro, Pa.; one son, John J. Kendall of Egg Harbor, N.J.; three sisters, Wilma Sipes and Naomi Androchek, both of Chambersburg, and Dixie Hoover of McConnellsburg, Pa.; one brother, Jackie Kendall of St. Thomas, Pa.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
