INWOOD, W.Va. -- Isaac Thornton heated up in the second half for Martinsburg as the No. 1 Bulldogs turned a halftime tie into a 56-41 Potomac Valley Conference win over No. 3 Musselman on the Applemen's home court.

Thornton scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half on 7-of-8 shooting and added five rebounds for Martinsburg (18-2, 7-0), which outscored Musselman 16-7 in the fourth quarter. Cameron Cato added 15 points and Tevin Walker also had 10 points in the win.

Jonathan Alvarez scored 12 points and Diego Pons added nine for the Applemen (15-4, 3-4).

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. -- Dewey McDonald had 22 points, including the game-winning layup with four seconds left, as the Cougars barely escaped with a PVC win after scoring the first 21 points of the game.

Dillon Regalia added 17 points and seven rebounds while Marquis Jones had 10 points and Nick Zbikowski grabbed 12 boards for Jefferson (10-7, 2-4). McDonald also had 11 rebounds in the win.

Tyrek Collier scored 19 points while Charles Yates added 10 points for the Patriots (8-9, 1-6), who didn't score until the second quarter but still rallied enough to hold a 61-60 lead until McDonald's layup at the end.

Alan Reed added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Leopards (7-14, 4-5).

Shane Zbir had 12 points and Tyler Walsh added 10 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Warriors (2-19, 1-9).
