Esther Marie Brennan, 65, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Washington County Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 1, 1943, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Trumpower and Lavena Trumpower.

She was the wife of the late Robert "Bob" Brennan, who went to be with the Lord on Feb. 23, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald Trumpower and Kenneth Ray Trumpower.

Susie recently retired from Citicorp in 2005. She was previously employed by OSI and was a dedicated school bus driver for the Washington County School System for more than 20 years.

She was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church and St. John's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring.

She is survived by three daughters, Stacey Stubenrauch and husband, Ralph, of New Market, Md., Robin Brawner and husband, Troy, of Hagerstown, and Tara Ortiz and husband, Edward, of Clear Spring; sister-in-law, Carol Trumpower; brother-in-law, Charles Brennan; niece, Lisa Smith; nephew, Chuck Brennan; seven grandchildren, Ciara, Alexandra, Chris, Samantha, Conner, Caden and Juliana; and special relative, Ann Roney.

Services will be held Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clear Spring. Pastor Charles Mackley will officiate. Interment will be held privately by the family in St. Paul's Cemetery, Clear Spring.

The family will receive friends at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of friends, you may visit the funeral home after noon.
