Economic workshop for farmers

February 17, 2009

Today's economy has encouraged many residents to become more conservative with their finances. In order to stretch each dollar, most must change certain aspects of their lifestyles.

The Franklin County Conservation District will host a session Tuesday, March 17, designed to assist the farming community in making more efficient management choices.

The workshop will focus on utilizing economical methods of no-till systems, cover crops and nutrient management on farming operations.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ag Heritage Center at 185 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, Pa.

Lunch will be provided for all registered participants. Farmers and those who have an interest in agricultural economics are invited to attend. Register for this workshop no later than Friday, March 6, by calling Tammy Gross, watershed specialist, at 717-264-5499, ext. 104.
