BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Janet Caroline Michael Culp, 74, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at Berkeley Rehab and Nursing in Berkeley Springs.

Born July 22, 1934, in Magnolia, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Austin Lee and Martha Zorich Orme.

Her husband, Harry Leon Culp, died in 1992.

She graduated from Berkeley Springs High School.

She retired as a secretary from Morgan Sanitation.

She was a member of Hancock United Methodist Church, the church choir and Community Choir.

She was the past state president of the American Legion Auxiliary, the first from Berkeley Springs; a member of Women of the Moose 1311; past president of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 60; and a member of Eight and Forty of the American Legion Auxiliary.


She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly E. Michael of Berkeley Springs; three sons, Robert A. Michael and John C. Michael, both of Berkeley Springs, and Ronald K. Michael of Martinsburg; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Orme.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Duane Jensen will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
