MIDDLETOWN, Md. - A. Marie Sigler, 89, of Middletown, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro.

Born July 19, 1919, in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Sarah Bowlus Sigler.

Her husband, Ralph L. Sigler, died in 2000.

She was employed by Hanover Shoe Co. in Middletown for many years and coordinated its Christmas programs for many years.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, served on the altar guild and taught Zion Daughter Sunday school class.

She was a member of 75-80 Go Cart Track, Food and Friends and Jolly Seniors.

She is survived by one brother, Samuel Crone of Burkittsville, Md.; nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her infant son; and by brothers and sisters, John Crone, Stanley Crone, Robert Crone, Velma Thomas, Belle Hendricks and Fannie Babington.


Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown. The Rev. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Locust Valley Bible Church Cemetery, Middletown.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown.
