Neighborhoods 1st



The Neighborhoods 1st group will hold a celebration dinner Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Elgin Station.

February is Neighborhoods 1st Month. This dinner is for all who are active in Neighborhoods 1st or who might be interested in getting involved. The dinner is free. For more information, call 301-766-4055 or e-mail neighborhoods1st@hagerstownmd.org.

Spaghetti dinner



The Beaver Creek Creeky Quilters will hold a spaghetti dinner Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Beaver Creek Christian Church, 9711 Beaver Creek Church Road.

The menu will include all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meat sauce, along with salad, french bread, drinks and dessert. The dinner costs $6.50 per person. Those 10 and younger will be admitted free. Proceeds will benefit Breast Cancer Awareness-Cumberland Valley. For more information, call 301-797-6586.

Indoor yard sale



St. James Brethren Church will hold an indoor yard sale Saturday, Feb. 28, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. Lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Homemade soups include vegetable, chicken corn and bean. Sandwiches include country ham, baked ham and turkey. Soup may be purchased by the quart.

Baked goods also will be available for purchase.

Table space is available for $15; tables are available for $5 each.

Church plans dinner



St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, on the corner of West Franklin and High streets, will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.

The menu includes pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, succotash, bread, beverage and dessert. The dinner costs $6.50. There also will be baked goods for sale.

Basket bingo



The South Hagerstown High School Band Boosters will hold a basket bingo Sunday, March 1, at Elks Lodge 378 on Robinwood Drive.

Tickets cost $25 per person and include a hot lunch. You must be 18 or older to play bingo or tip jars.

There will be 24 games plus special raffles, door prizes, tip jars and King Tuts. All baskets will be filled.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 1:30 p.m.

E. Russell Hicks Middle School will hold a basket bingo Sunday, March 15, at Elks Lodge 378 on Robinwood Drive.

Tickets cost $25 per person. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 1:30 p.m.
