GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Paul O. Kennedy, 67, of 570 N. Allison St., died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born March 26, 1941, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Ralph and Anna Mary Hykes Kennedy.

He was a graduate of Waynesboro High School.

He was last self-employed by R&K Agri Marketing.

He attended Cedar Grove Mennonite Church near Greencastle and served in the volunteer service (1-W) in a hospital in Bronx, N.Y.


He was a member of Nova Area Ruritan Club, and was active in the Shady Grove and Kauffman Ruritan clubs. He managed a team with Shady Grove Little League.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Martin Kennedy, whom he married April 7, 1962; one daughter, Tammy A. Kennedy of Greencastle; one son, Delbert P. Kennedy of Greencastle; two sisters, Louisa Bair of Chambersburg, Pa., and Dorothy Martin of Mercersburg, Pa.; seven brothers, Norman Kennedy and Ronald Kennedy Sr., both of Greencastle, Charles Kennedy of Erie, Pa., Samuel Kennedy of Chambersburg, Isaac Kennedy Sr. of Clarksburg, Pa., Jerome Kennedy of Waynesboro and Philip Kennedy Sr. of Lemasters, Pa.; three grandsons; and his stepmother, Hazel Kennedy of Florida.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ralph Kennedy.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, Greencastle. The Rev. Stephen Fretz will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, and at the church one hour before the services on Wednesday.
