Audrey Mills Harrington, 65, of 22 Mealey Parkway, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Towson.

Born Aug. 14, 1943, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Hunton P. Mills and Lucille Ridenour Mills.

She was employed by the Washington County Department of Social Services for 17 years and owned Audrey Harrington Catering.

She was a graduate of Emma Willard Prep School, Troy, N.Y., Toby Coburn Fashion Institute of New York City and attended University of Mississippi.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

She was a member of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, co-founder of the Singer Society at the museum, board member of Goodwill Industries, Maryland Symphony volunteer and the Washington County Historical Society. Former member of the Town and Country Garden Club, St. John's Episcopal Church Shelter and the Fountain Head Country Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Christina M. VanDeventer, husband, Steven, of New Market, Md., and Whitney M. Harrington of Hagerstown; and two grandchildren, Owen T. and Hanah C. VanDeventer, both of New Market.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Stephanie P. Yancy officiating. Burial will be private in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service at 22 Mealey Parkway from 3 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.

Arrangements are being handled by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home.
