The Startaris

V. Joseph and Dianne M. Startari of Hagerstown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a week-long stay at Blackwater Falls State Park in West Virginia. They celebrated with their family in a rustic four-bedroom cabin at the park.

They were accompanied by a daughter, Laura Startari of Hagerstown; a son, Stephen and his wife, Krystyna, of Rockville, Md., and another daughter, Maria Stegall and granddaughter, of Butler, Tenn.

Mrs. Startari retired as a telephone interviewer with the Census Bureau in Hagerstown in 1997. Mr. Startari retired as director, fiscal operations division, Department of Energy, Germantown, Md. in 1995.

Mr. and Mrs. Startari were married Oct. 11, 1958, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Arlington, Va., by the Rev. John J. Hughes.


The Dellingers

William and Vicky Dellinger of Hagerstown celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary aboard the Royal Carribean Ship, Grarndeur of the Seas. The nine-day cruise to New England and Nova Scotia was a surprise anniversary gift from their daughter and spouse, Rebecca and Derreck Chupak and grandchildren.

The Dellingers were married July 14, 1973, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro, by the Rev. Frank D. Helsel, now deceased.

Mrs. Dellinger is the former Vicky L. Banzhoff, daughter of Beverly C. Banzhoff and the late Victor G. Banzhoff. She retired from the Maryland State Correction System in 2004 with 38 years of service.

Mr. Dellinger is the son of Ellen R. (Culler) Dellinger and the late William H. Dellinger. He is employed as an agent with Quality First Insurance Agency in Hagerstown and is also a member of the support staff at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro.

The Dellingers met in 1971 on a blind date courtesy of mutual friends.
