Two picked for Leadership Maryland

ANNAPOLIS - Hagerstown residents Ruth Anne Callaham and Joseph Kroboth III have been selected for the Leadership Maryland Class of 2009.

Kroboth, the director of public works for Washington County, and Callaham, the executive director of Food Resources Inc., are among 46 people selected to participate in the eight-month program.

Leadership Maryland was founded in 1992 and is an independent, educational, nonprofit organization designed to inform top-level executives from the public and private sectors about the critical issues, challenges and opportunities facing the state of Maryland.

The program begins with a two-day retreat in April, and participants will attend five two-day sessions and one one-day session that will focus on economic development, education, health and human services, criminal and juvenile justice, environment and multiculturalism/diversity. More than 100 experts representing business, government, education and the nonprofit community will serve as panelists and guest speakers.
