Mason-Dixon Council holds fall camporee

The Mason-Dixon Council conducted a fall camporee at the Sinoquipe Scout Reservation near Fort Littleton, Pa., Nov. 7 to 9 with more than 350 Boy Scouts and leaders in attendance.

Patrol challenge events were set up throughout the camp, with scouts participating in an orienteering station, lashings, first aid, fire building with wet wood, tomahawk throwing, knot tying, shelter building and teamwork skills in building a container which allowed their egg safely to drop from 60 feet in the air.

Troop 32, Mont Alto, Pa., took first place for peanut butter fudge in the leader's dessert contest.

On Saturday evening, a camp-wide campfire was conducted with troops providing songs, cheers and skits. On Sunday morning, a religious service was held with a closing ceremony following.

The event was organized by Troop 88, Waynesboro, Pa., with the assistance of Harley Smith, Venture Crew 95, Camp Ranger Jack Rhodes and Guneukitschik Lodge No. 317 Order of the Arrow.

The Mason-Dixon Council serves the youth in Washington County and Franklin and Fulton counties in Pennsylvania.
