GIRLS BASKETBALL



Clutch performances from Jessica Gaylor and Morgan McIntire powered Heritage Academy to a 50-41 victory Friday over Shalom Christian, giving the Eagles a share of the Mason Dixon Christian Conference regular-season title with the Flames.

Gaylor scored eight of her 12 points in the third quarter and McIntire went 6-for-8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. Caroline Clark also had nine boards for the Eagles (21-2, 13-1). Heritage outscored Shalom in the second half, 28-18.

Alexis Marquiss led the Flames (20-2, 13-1) with 10 points and Olivia Grove added nine points.

Heritage won the coin flip to grab the top seed in the MDCC playoffs. The Eagles will face Broadfording on Tuesday, while second-seeded Shalom draws Calvary Christian.

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Mallory Wishard led Waynesboro with 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Maidens (11-12) ended their season with a PIAA District 3-AAAA play-in loss to Carlisle (15-8).

Wishard's final two points of her high school career came on free throws with two minutes remaining, as she set a new Waynesboro career scoring mark with 1,309 points.

CLEAR SPRING -- Marcus Hall scored 26 points and Justin Stone added 19 points for Brunswick (14-4, 9-0), which stayed undefeated in the MVAL Antietam with a win on the road.

Kyle Crist had 15 points and four steals, Brandon Glazer added 13 points and five assists and Cody Englehart grabbed nine rebounds for Clear Spring (12-6, 5-4).
