GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Leonard D. Addlesberger, 89, formerly of 10683 Worleytown Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Menno Haven Nursing Home in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Oct. 7, 1919, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Merle and Lillian Ressler Addlesberger.

He attended Zullinger, Pa., schools.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha L. Witmer Addlesberger, in 2004. They were married Oct. 12, 1940.

He retired in 1982 as a pipe fitter from Mack Trucks in Hagerstown.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

He attended Antrim Brethren in Christ Church in Chambersburg.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Michajluk of Greencastle; three sisters, Betty Negley and Victoria Eshelman, both of Chambersburg and Anne Skaggs of California; two brothers, Carl Addlesberger of Greencastle and Joseph Addlesberger of Waynesboro; one grandson; four great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.


He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosalie Wharton, Mary Myers and Gladys Fahnestock; two brothers, Merle Addlesberger and William Addlesberger; and one granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Antrim Brethren in Christ Church in Chambersburg. The Rev. Ky Searcy will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
