Preps Area Roundup -- Urbana hands Hubs fifth straight loss

Urbana broke out fast in the first half and handed North Hagerstown its fifth straight setback on Thursday, 84-61.

The Hawks (16-3) forced 19 turnovers in the first two periods racing to a 45-19 lead.

With the outcome decided, North (9-10) played Urbana on even terms in the second half.

Joe Mattei led North with 20 points and added nine rebounds and three blocked shots.

Brent Bell scored 19 points, pulled down seven rebounds and collected four assists and three steals for North. Tyler Spencer had eight rebounds.

Brad Hickman led Urbana (16-3) with 19 points, while Zach Cooper added 14 points in the win.

Austin Sanders scored 14 points, John Watson added 12 points and Bunting also had six assists and six steals.

BRUNSWICK, Md. -- Justin Stone led Brunswick with 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Railroaders (13-4, 8-0) clinched the MVAL Antietam in front of their home crowd.

Williamsport (9-8, 4-4) got out to a 9-2 start and led 17-13 after the first quarter, but could only score a combined 12 points in the second and third periods. Casey McKenrick scored a team-high eight points for the Wildcats (9-8, 4-4), who were outrebounded 32-16.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. -- Iesha Robinson and Jackie Brewer combined for 38 of Martinsburg's season-low 40 points as the Bulldogs edged Hedgesville.

Robinson scored 20 points while Brewer added 18 for Martinsburg (15-3), which won despite shooting just 23 percent (15-for-65) from the floor. The Bulldogs forced 25 turnovers while only turning the ball over 10 times themselves.

Brittany Boarman led the Eagles (11-8) with 13 points and 15 rebounds while Katy Leborious scored nine points.

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. -- Chelsey Hollenshead had 12 points, 17 rebounds and eight steals for Southern Fulton as the Indians clinched a share of the Sideling Hill League regular-season title with a win over Forbes Road (1-21, 0-16).

Brooke Whiteside chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Emily Garland scored 12 points for Southern Fulton (20-2, 14-2), which led 35-13 at the half.
