Judge to run for second term

February 13, 2009

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Magisterial District Judge Kelly L. Rock has announced she will run for a second six-year term in District 39-3-07, which encompasses Guilford and Quincy Townships and the borough of Mont Alto, Pa.

"No case is minor to the participants involved, so I try to treat each one fairly," said Rock, 43, of Mont Alto.

During the past year, Rock's office handled about 3,000 criminal and civil cases, ranging from traffic citations and landlord-tenant disputes to felony crimes, she said.

Rock said she also has officiated at more than 300 weddings, mostly in her office on Lincoln Way East.

"Growing up with grandparents who were both justices of the peace ... has helped me to understand the paramount importance of serving my community by dispensing justice in a fair and open-minded manner," Rock said.
