INWOOD, W.Va. -- Dewey McDonald hit a 3 to break a 44-44 tie with 20 seconds remaining to help No. 5 Jefferson pull out a 49-46 victory over No. 2 Musselman on Wednesday in a tightly played Potomac Valley Conference game.

The two teams stayed within two points of each other for much of the game.

McDonald finished with 12 points, but was 0-for-10 from 2-point range and 2-for-4 from behind the arc to go with six foul shots. He added eight rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Garrett Grantham led Jefferson (8-7, 1-4) with 15 points, and Justin Bryan added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Musselman (14-3, 2-3) was led by Jonathan Alvarez with 13 points and Morgan McDonald with 10.

Tussey Mountain 57, Southern Fulton 46

SAXTON, Pa. -- Lucas Mellott led Southern Fulton with 16 points and 17 rebounds, but the Indians fell to Tussey Mountain (19-2, 13-2) on Tuesday in the Sideling Hill League.

Josh Hall scored 14 points for Southern Fulton (12-9, 8-7).

No. 3 Southern Fulton 43, Chestnut Ridge 32

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. -- Lacey Beatty scored 11 of her 16 points in the first half to lead Southern Fulton to a Sideling Hill League victory over Chestnut Ridge.

Beatty, who also had six steals, helped the Indians (19-2, 13-2) to a 25-12 halftime lead. Southern Fulton maintained the advantage in the second half, despite 20 points by Steph McCoy.

Keena Elbin had eight rebounds and three steals for Southern Fulton.

Dakeea Marshall had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Tanisha Murray had six points and seven steals for the Cougars (11-6). 

Nikki Stephenson had 14 points and Morgan Harms added nine for Musselman (10-7).

BOONSBORO -- Brynn Arnone had 19 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks as Boonsboro beat Catoctin to remain unbeaten in the MVAL Antietam.

Ashley Smothers had 11 points for the Warriors (15-4, 9-0), while Emma Dalton had seven points and seven rebounds, Alison Griffith had seven rebounds and Katie Marshall had four steals.

Kylie Late had 17 points for Catoctin (5-14, 3-6), which trailed 44-30 entering the fourth quarter.
