February 11, 2009|By JACK HILL III

CLEAR SPRING -- Kyle Crist scored 21 points to lead Clear Spring to a 73-61 MVAL Antietam victory over Boonsboro on Tuesday.

"I kind of thought we set the tone early defensively," Clear Spring coach Mark Shives said. "That gave us some transition baskets early. Brandon Glazer and Kyle Crist used their strength to take the game to the inside in the first half."

Glazer and Jordan Lavender scored 19 points each for Clear Spring (12-5, 5-3). Lavender pulled down eight rebounds, while Crist and Glazer grabbed six rebounds each. Joel Rowe had eight rebounds and Glazer had five assists for the Blazers.

"We got a lot of help from a lot of guys coming off of the bench tonight," Shives said. "We are starting to fulfill our roles. We had some guys that scored a lot of points, but we had an excellent team effort tonight."
