Harold Wishard Durbin, 85, of College Road, Hagerstown, Md., died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at Fahrney-Keeney in Boonsboro, Md.

Born Feb. 23, 1923, in Bridgeport, Md., he was the son of the late Elmer Ellis and Cora Samantha Corderman Durbin.

He was a salesman for Hagerstown Block Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church.

He was a member of AARP.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Jeanette Myers Durbin; two sons, Allan R. Durbin and his wife, Carroline, of Green Valley, Ariz., and Marlin L. Durbin and his wife, Sally, of Fairplay, Md.; three sisters, Ruth Shank, Betty Domer and Nancy Starliper, all of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Warren K. Durbin; five sisters, Mabel Taylor, Margaret Gearhart, Pearl Sigler, Ethel Swartz and Louise Durbin; and two brothers, Oscar Durbin and Roy Durbin.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dale Carver and Pastor Gerald Carbaugh officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Hagerstown Bible Church, Building Fund, 203 Summit Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
