Minnie Mae Smith Johnson, 73, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 16, 1935, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late George V. and Gladys E. Anderson Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Johnson.
She attended North Street School.
She was a self-employed beautician for many years.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Hagerstown, where she served as a choir member, Sunday school and youth worker, and communion steward, on the usher board, parsonage committee and kitchen committee, and was vice president of Willing Workers Club. She was a participant with United Methodist Women's Organization.
She is survived by two sons, Leroy S. Dotson and Antonio A. Dotson, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, Robert C. Smith and Edward L. Smith, both of Hagerstown; three sisters, Helen M. Bowers and Catherine B. Smith, both of Hagerstown, and Shirley V. Catoe of Bloomfield, N.J.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
