Lewis "Pud" Horman, 69

Mr. Lewis E. "Pud" Horman, 69, formerly of Frederick, Md., went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Julia Manor in Hagerstown.

He was the husband of Phyllis Summers Horman for 48 years.

Born Oct. 24, 1939, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Lewis E. and Jenny Louise Horman.

Mr. Horman was a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1957.

After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for the City of Gaithersburg in the Public Works Department until his retirement in 1996. He was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed bowling for many years at the Mount Airy bowling lanes, participated in Civil War re-enactments during the 1960s and was a captain of his unit Company A 1st Maryland Infantry, CSA.

Mr. Horman is survived by his sons, Thomas of Towson, Jonathan and wife, Beatrix, of Hagerstown and Andrew of Frederick; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Patrick, Melissa and Rachel, all of Hagerstown; and a special nephew, Yancy and wife, Terry, of Frederick.


Mr. Horman was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Samuel.

Visitation with family will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, from the funeral home. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Garden.

Pallbearers will be Yancy Horman, Patrick Horman, Hoodie Geisbert, Bill Pascl, Brad Miller, Felix Plunkert. Honorary bearers will be granddaughters, Jennifer, Melissa and Rachel Horman.

Music will be provided by Bill and Debbie Fisher.
