CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Anna R. Snoke, 79, a resident of Providence Place of Chambersburg, and formerly of Greencastle, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Providence Place.

Born Aug. 11, 1929, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of the late Siebert and Lucy J. Deck Myers.

She purchased Oaks Hardware Store, Greencastle, and operated it for a number of years before retiring in 1990.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Greencastle.

She was a member of Greencastle Lioness Club, Rescue Hose Co. 1 and Ladies Auxiliary of Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post 6319, both of Greencastle.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold E. Snoke; two daughters, Deborah A. Gearhart Leidig and Pamela A. Carr, both of Greencastle; one son, Richard E. Snoke of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Doris Barnhart of Greencastle and Jane Beaver of Waynesboro, Pa.; one brother, Donald Myers of Greencastle; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by one sister, Isabelle Cunningham; and three brothers, George Myers, Robert Myers and Ray Myers.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle. Pastor Stacy Crawford will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
