Church's youth group to hold spaghetti dinner



The 11th annual youth spaghetti dinner will be Saturday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at First Christian Church on Potomac Avenue in Hagerstown.

A ticket contribution of $7 will be accepted.

Proceeds will go toward the youth camp and conference programs, and also to Holly Place.

Garden club plans trip to flower show



The Crossroads Garden Club is sponsoring a trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show Wednesday, March 4.

The bus will leave Long Meadow Shopping Center at 8 a.m. The $69 fee includes the bus fare and admission to the flower show. The theme this year is "Bella Italia." The public is invited. For more information, call Connie Spong at 301-797-7394.

Women's Club plans bus trip to see show



The Women's Club is sponsoring a bus trip to the Hippodrome in Baltimore to see "Riverdance." The trip costs $88, which includes bus fare and show. The public is invited. For more information, call Dottie Cochrane at 301-739-2816.

Spaghetti dinner to be held March 7



An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be Saturday, March 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 54 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

Tickets cost $7 per person for eat in or carryout. Hagerstown delivery will be available by calling 301-739-1535.

Free parking is available in the city's new parking deck with direct access to the dinner using the parking deck elevator.

St. Mary Catholic School news



o On Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., St. Mary Catholic School will hold a fundraiser at the Green Turtle on Shank Farm Lane in the Stonehouse Square Shopping Center off Leitersburg Pike. The school will share in a percentage of the proceeds.

o On Friday, the students will enjoy Valentine's Day parties.

o On Monday, March 16, from 4 to 6 p.m., an open house will be held for prospective new students in kindergarten through seventh grade.

Morris Frock Auxiliary plans Valentine's dance



A Valentine's Day dance will be held at Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 on Saturday in the ballroom. The dance is sponsored by Post 42 Auxiliary Unit. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, a buffet dinner of roast turkey with dessert will be served at 6:30 p.m. and dancing to the music of Jay and the Jingos will be from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Tickets, which cost $20, are available at the post.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 446 members had "Talk and Sharing Time" at the Feb. 4 meeting. The members enjoy helping each other.

The group had some good numbers at the scales this week. The group plans to have a program on TOPS Tools for Wednesday's meeting. The community is invited to attend.

The group meets Wednesdays at 8:45 a.m. for weigh-in, with the meeting from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 19731 Shiloh Church Road, Hagerstown.

Pork and sauerkraut dinner



Saint Matthew United Methodist Church, on the corner of Franklin and High streets in Hagerstown, will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner Saturday, Feb. 21, from 3 to 7 p.m. The menu includes pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, succotash rolls and butter, beverage and dessert for $ 6.50 per person. There will be a bake sale, too.
