Golf event raises funds for charities

February 08, 2009

Beaver Creek Country Club hosted a charity golf event last summer where $25,000 was raised for charities and a child cancer patient.

"It was a great day for charity and golf," said Victor Campbell, event coordinator. "We were blessed with beautiful weather and delicious food donated by Uno's Chicago Grill."

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of Hagerstown Trust, golfers and other sponsors, he said.

Former Washington Redskins football players Mark Mosely, Pat Fischer and Ron McDole were on hand to sign autographs and add to the excitement of the day.

Charlie Thomas was the winner of the Antrim Way Honda car raffle. He was handed the keys by Antrim Way Honda preowned sales manager Tony Van Dueren. Pam Meredith of Habitat for Humanity, Susan Mades of Hagerstown Trust, Rod Steiner of Beaver Creek Country Club, Debbie Williams of the Patty Pollatos Fund and Campbell were on hand for the presentation.
