Moats-Miller



Abigail Rachel Moats and Jason Carroll Miller announce their engagement.

Miss Moats is the daughter of Christine Moats of Maugansville, and Richard Moats of Williamsport. She is a 2000 graduate of Williamsport High School and a 2005 graduate of University of Maryland Baltimore County with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences. She is pursuing a master's degree in dietetics at University of Maryland, College Park.

Mr. Miller is the son of Larry and Carol Miller of Hagerstown. He is a 1997 graduate of Williamsport High School, a 2004 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor's degree in systems engineering. He is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Auburn University. He is a captain in the United States Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. He is scheduled to return from a 12-month deployment to Iraq in November 2009.

A June 2010 wedding is planned.

Courter-Burger



Pastor Douglas and Barbara Courter of Clear Spring announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Valerie Courter, to Matthew Joseph Burger, son of Rolland and Sandra Burger of Halfway.

Miss Courter is a 2002 graduate of Clear Spring High School and a 2006 graduate of Grace College with a bachelor's degree in biblical studies. She completed a year of missions work in Bangui, Central African Republic and is employed by Washington County Public Schools.

Mr. Burger is a 1997 graduate of Williamsport High School and a 2001 graduate of Western Maryland College with a bachelor's degree in history and political science. He received a Masters of Public Policy from The George Washington University in 2004 and is completing doctoral studies in political science with the University of Maryland.

A May 16, 2009, wedding is planned.

Haas-Blair



Edward Grebenstein of Williamsport announces the engagement of his daughter, Anne L. Haas, to William C. Blair, son of the late Paul H. Blair Sr. and Mary E. Blair. Ms. Haas is also the daughter of the late Barbara Grebenstein.

Ms. Haas is a graduate of Magruder High School in Montgomery County, Md., and the University of Maryland in College Park, Md. She is employed at the Cumberland Valley Veterinarian Clinic and the Mountain View Emergency Animal Clinic in Hagerstown.

Mr. Blair is a graduate of Williamsport High School. He is a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the Washington County Sheriff's Department. He is self-employed and is owner of the Downsville General Store in Downsville.

A June 2009 wedding is planned.

Magaha-Golden



Jessica Erin Magaha of Hagerstown and Adam Tyler Golden of Mercersburg, Pa., announce their engagement.

Ms. Magaha is the daughter of Emmett and Sandra Magaha of Hagerstown. She is a 2006 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and plans to graduate from Kaplan College with a degree in dental assisting. She is employed at Allegany Optical.

Mr. Golden is the son of Herb and Audrey Golden of Mercersburg, Pa. He is a 2004 graduate of Grace Academy and a 2008 graduate of Cedarville University with a degree in psychology. He is employed at Brook Lane Health Services.

An April 3, 2009, wedding is planned.

Spitzer-Shifler



Guy and Susan Spitzer of Maugansville announce the engagement of their daughter, Tasha Spitzer, to Nick Shifler of Smithsburg, son of Mike and Sharon Shifler of Smithsburg.

Ms. Spitzer is a 2002 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. She is employed by Hagerstown Medical Lab and is pursuing an associate degree in medical assistance.

Mr. Shifler is a 2004 graduate of Washington County Technical High School. He is employed as a technician by Hagerstown Honda.

A wedding date has not been set.

Lacey-Godlove



April Lacey and Hank Godlove announce their engagement.

Ms. Lacey is the daughter of Teri Grove and Ronnie Lacey Sr., both of Hagerstown. she attended North Hagerstown High School and is a stay-at-home mother.

Mr. Godlove is the son of Julia Ann Godlove of Smithsburg, and Melvin Godlove of Hagerstown. He attended Smithsburg High School and is employed with McDonald's.

A wedding date has not yet been set.
