HCC gets NJCAA qualifiers

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- Hagerstown Community College had six individuals finish in positions that qualified them for the NJCAA National Indoor Track & Field Championship at Texas Tech University on March 7-8.

Competing in the East Stroudsburg Invitational, Cory Centofonti placed second in the 5,000 meters in 15:28.46 and Dustin Adams was third in 15.33:38. In the men's 1,000 meters, Justin Cole was second in 2:34.52 and Mike Podlesnik was fourth in 2:36.46.

For the women, Liz Ross was second in the shot put with a heave of 12.94 meters and Samantha Valeton was second in the 500 in 1:22.96.

Je'bra Parker was fourth in the women's shot put at 13.97 meters but did not qualify.
