BRUNSWICK, Md. - Phyllis Ann Thompson, 74, of Brunswick, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Vindobona Nursing Home in Braddock Heights, Md.

Born Sept. 29, 1934, in Sandy Hook, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Robert Hughes Sr. and Hazel Powers Hughes.

She retired from Loudoun County Hospital in Leesburg, Va., as a secretary.

She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Brunswick.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Thompson of Braddock Heights; one sister, Pauline Andreczjack of Douglasville, Ga.; one brother, Samuel R. Hughes Jr. of Pendleton, S.C.; nieces; nephews; and cousins.


She was preceded in death by one sister, Jeannette Donovan.

A graveside service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Samples Manor Cemetery. The Rev. Vicky Starnes will officiate.
