FALLSTON, Md. -Shirley Louise Dofflemyer, 71, of 1115 Chatelaine Drive and formerly of Hagerstown, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Towson, Md.

Born Aug. 12, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Eldridge Carl and Margaret Elizabeth Shoemaker Gaynor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wayne "CB" Dofflemyer Sr., in 1998.

She was employed by London Fog Manufacturing in Boonsboro for more than 29 years, retiring in 1993.

She was a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of God in Halfway.

She was president of the Textile Workers Union of Baltimore.

She is survived by four daughters, Vickie Luther of Fallston, Sharon Phillips of Williamsport, Tammy Trumpower-Smith of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Jackie Tusing of Hagerstown; one son, Donald Abbott II of Frederick, Md.; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.


She was preceded in death by one sister, Daisy Turner.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Virginia Avenue Church of God, Halfway. The Rev. A. Paul Harne will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, which will open at noon.
