Belva Lavena Gaver White, 88, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Boonsboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.

Born Aug. 28, 1920, in Middletown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Roelkey Lee and Ruth E. Crone Gaver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Joseph White, in 1973.

She was a 1938 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Boonsboro.

She is survived by three daughters, M. Consuelo Rinehart of Easton, Md., Frances B. Gladhill of Hagerstown and Celeste H. White of Fairfax, Va.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Gaver.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, Boonsboro. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
