BRUNSWICK, Md. - Oscar Philmore "Big O" Flook Jr., 74, of Brunswick, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at his home.

Born June 21, 1934, in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Oscar P. Flook Sr. and Ernie L. Wenner Flook.

He retired from the Frederick County (Md.) School Board as a custodian.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of New York Hill United Methodist Church in Brunswick.

He was a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136, Steadman-Keenan American Legion Post 96 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1582, all of Brunswick.

He is survived by six daughters, Robin Flook-Bowers of Rohrersville, Mary L. Swope of Clear Spring, Vickie Ray of Ruppert, W.Va., Karen Hawes of Williamsport, Doris Parrill of Winchester, Va., and Teresa Hopkins of Deltona, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Floor and Christine Westerman; and one brother, Martin P. Flook.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, Brunswick. The Rev. Vickie Starnes will officiate. Burial will be in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 9 a.m.
