Police looking for teenager who left group home



CLEAR SPRING -- A teenager who on Monday left Oak Hill House was last seen running toward Independence Road, according to a Washington County Sheriff's Department news release.

Michael Matthews, 16, left the group home about 10:30 p.m. Monday and police believe he was heading back to his home in Baltimore, the release said.

Matthews is about 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds, and has short black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Matthews' whereabouts may call a local police agency or the sheriff's department at 240-313-2100.

Wheel stolen from car parked at Valley Mall



HALFWAY -- Someone removed a wheel from an Oldsmobile Cutlass on Tuesday night, Washington County Sheriff's deputies said.

The car was parked in the Valley Mall parking lot in the area of the movie theater, deputies said in a news release.

Incidents reported to Hagerstown police



Hagerstown police responded recently to the following incidents:

Monday:

o At 12:25 p.m., damage to a motor vehicle was reported in the 600 block of Oak Hill Avenue. A window was damaged by someone shooting a BB gun.

Tuesday:

o At 8 a.m., an attempted burglary and damage to property was reported in the area of Merrbaugh Drive. A screen and ceramic item were damaged.

Washington County deputies respond to calls



The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded recently to the following incidents:

Sunday:

o At 1:27 p.m., theft was reported at the Valley Mall. A Kiddy Ride machine was broken into and coins were taken.

o At 1:37 p.m., breaking and entering was reported in the 2200 block of Kaetzel Road. A Sears tool box and cash were taken.

o At 4:07 p.m., theft was reported at the McDonald's on Maugans Avenue. Cash was taken from a safe.

Monday:

o At 11:26 a.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 20300 block of Youngstoun Court. A rear window was broken out of a vehicle.

o At 1:03 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 11900 block of Cheryl Drive. Someone shot out a window with a BB gun.

o At 1:26 p.m., theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 11300 block of Youngstoun Drive. Gas was taken from a vehicle.

o At 9:26 p.m., theft was reported in the 11400 block of Rock Hill Road. A 32-inch Vizier television was taken.

Tuesday:

o At 6:57 a.m., theft was reported in the area of Vermont Street in Williamsport. A ring was taken from a home.

o At 7:01 a.m., breaking and entering was reported at Ollie's Bargain Outlet. A security system was damaged and cash was taken from a safe.

o At 1:08 p.m., theft was reported at the Bon Ton in the Valley Mall. A silverware set was taken.

o At 5:23 p.m., theft was reported in the area of Byron Drive in Smithsburg. An electric and an acoustic guitar were taken from a home.

o At 8:36 p.m., theft was reported in the 11000 block of Hickory School Road. An iPod Touch was taken from a home.

o At 11:37 p.m., theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the area of the Valley Mall parking lot. Someone took a tire from a vehicle.
