Around Boonsboro

February 03, 2009|By KRISTY SMITH / 301-432-8615

Greetings, neighbors!

I am trusting you survived the ice with no lasting problems. It was a comedy at my house watching the puppies try to get around on the rink that was our yard. When you have a minute, take the time to wonder at the beautiful new facade at Inn BoonsBoro. What a wonderful addition to our little downtown.

All County Band

You might have read that on Saturday evening, the All County Band performed at North High. What an amazing concert put on by musicians whose rehearsal time was cut short due to bad weather. Twenty-seven musicians from our middle school band program, under the direction of J. Michael Beeler and Amanda Kline, were selected by their band directors to represent the community.

Eight instrumentalists from the high school band were selected through an audition process. The students, under the direction of band director Micah Socks, are: Sean Clark (trombone), Casey Clark (trombone), Matt Howe (French horn), Nicole McLaughlin (clarinet), Jake Zimmerman (trombone, euphonium), Matt Detora (trumpet), David Adams (bass trombone, trombone) and Laurin Smith (bassoon). Adams, DeTora and Zimmerman also participated in the All County jazz band.
