QUINCY, Pa. - Rebecca L. Lessard Price Shively, 90, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of Cottage 204-D, Quincy Village, died Saturday Jan. 31, 2009, at the nursing home.

Born Feb. 27, 1918, in North Danville, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Dana and Isa May Collins Lessard.

Her first husband, David J. Price, died Oct. 21, 1987. They were married in 1956. Her second husband, Joseph E. Shively, died June 20, 1999. They were married Jan. 12, 1993.


She was a graduate of Sanborn Seminary and was a 1939 graduate of McIntosh Business College.

She had worked as an executive secretary at First National Bank of Wall Street in New York City. She retired in 1978.

She attended Quincy United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Waynesboro Historical Society, Quincy Ladies Auxiliary, National AARP and South Chapter 2977 AARP. She was an associate member of Franklin County (Pa.) Association of School Retirees.

She is survived by one stepdaughter, Carolyn S. Guerrina of Cochranville, Pa.; one stepson, Curtis A. Shively of Bethesda, Md.; two sisters, Ruth Sletten of Acton, Mass., and Marion Arnold of Weston, Fla.; one brother, Lloyd A. Lessard of Sandown, N.H.; four stepgrandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Flora Helen Dennett and Pauline G. Sims; and two brothers, Arthur E. Lessard and Oliver W. Lessard.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Minnich Manor, Quincy. The Rev. Harold and Ruth Hollister will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, Va.

The family will receive friends one half-hour prior to the services Tuesday at the chapel.

Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa.
