Bowers Marine Sales



Bowers Marine Sales held its second annual customer appreciation event in January, where guests were served doughnuts, juice and coffee; spun a wheel for discounts on parts and accessories; and bid on items to help raise money for Boats, Bikes & Bowers Birthday Fund for the boys of Shining Tree Children's Home.

Harold Gist won first place in the Shining Tree drawing and will receive 25 percent off his next accessories purchase at Bowers Marine. The Greg Petty family won passes to Hagerstown Speedway and Robert Rutherford won ski lessons at Whitetail Resort.

Home Health Care



Home Health Care, a department of Washington County Hospital, was selected as a recipient of the 2008 HomeCare Elite award of excellence.

The award is presented to the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified home health care providers in the United States and recognizes exceptional quality of care, quality improvement and financial performance.

Financial services firm Edward Jones is ranked No. 2 on Fortune magazine's list of "100 Best Companies to Work For 2009."

This is the 10th year the firm has made the list, according to J. Greg Garner, a financial adviser in Hagerstown.

The full list appears in the Feb. 2 issue of the magazine and is available online at www.fortune.com.

The ranking is based on associate input.

Bella Salon and Spa



LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. - Hagerstown's Bella Salon and Spa, owned by Tamara L. Shindle, was named one of the 200 fastest-growing salons in North America by Salon Today magazine, a business publication for salon and spa owners.

Salons were selected from applications submitted by Salon Today readers. The magazine honored the applicants who posted the highest increases in gross sales from 2006 to 2007.
