BUNKER HILL, W.Va. -- Erma M. Bain, 87, of Bunker Hill, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Heartland of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Sept. 18, 1921, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late David F. Adams and Nellie May Hite Adams.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marshal C. Linton; and her second husband, Max W. Bain Sr.

She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Markle of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Betty Snyder of Winchester, Va. and Gwen Barnes of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one son, Max W. Bain Jr. of Inwood, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Effie Sibole and Mary Baker; and three brothers, Robert Adams, George Adams and Avery Adams.

Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at South Berkeley Funeral Chapel in Inwood. The Rev. Jack Rudy will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View

Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
