Man faces assault charges

MONT ALTO, Pa. -- A Mont Alto man was charged with aggravated assault on police after troopers went to investigate a domestic disturbance Thursday afternoon, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.

John Keith Catt, 41, of 224 Park St., also charged with simple assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief in the 4:13 p.m. incident.

Catt was breaking property at the residence when troopers arrived, police said. Catt refused to comply with verbal commands and resisted and assaulted the troopers, police said.

Troopers used pepper mace and an "electric incapacitation device" to subdue Catt, police said.

Catt was jailed on $25,000 bond, police said.
