CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Allan E. "Bud" Jennings, 82, of 3820 Lincoln Way West, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born June 9, 1926, in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of the late H. Theodore "Ted" and Mary Eden Jennings.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Merion D. Durboraw Jennings in 1996, and his second wife, Linda Decker Jennings in 2002.

He was a 1944 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a 1949 graduate of Gettysburg College.

He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He was chairman of the board of Jennings Chevrolet Cadillac and Jennings Pontiac Buick GMC.

He was a member and past president of the Pennsylvania Independent Automobile Dealers Association, and a member of the Franklin County New Car Dealers Association, Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, McConnellsburg Post 561 American Legion and Wesley Yeager Post 606 American Legion, Fort Loudon, Pa.

He was the justice of the peace for Hamilton Township, Franklin County, from 1960 until 1972.

He is survived by two sons, Allan E. Jennings Jr. and Thomas W. Jennings, both of Chambersburg; two sisters, Anna L. Brundage of Frackville, Pa., and Marion Locke of Fayetteville, Pa.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and his companion, Beverly Milliken.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. The Rev. Jeffrey R. Diller will officiate. Burial with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow in Norland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and at the funeral home one hour before the service.
