Tuscarora schools hire manager

January 26, 2009|By JENNIFER FITCH

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- The Tuscarora School Board on Monday hired a Greencastle-Antrim School Board member as its new business manager.

Eric R. Holtzman's starting annual salary was set at $75,000. His first day will be Feb. 9.

Holtzman, vice president of accounting at Citi, was appointed to the Greencastle-Antrim School Board in June 2007, and won a seat in the election that fall. He currently serves as the board's treasurer.

"I'm hoping I can stay on the board at Greencastle. I don't see a conflict at this point," Holtzman said.

He said he plans to resign from the technical authority, which owns the property of the Franklin County (Pa.) Career and Technology Center. He also plans to abstain from Greencastle votes that affect the career center or other joint ventures with Tuscarora.

Tuscarora School District Superintendent Rebecca E. Erb said eight applicants were interviewed for the position recently vacated by Rick Kerr. He became the business manager in Big Spring School District in Newville, Pa.
