Crews respond to storage building fire in Clear Spring



CLEAR SPRING - A fire Sunday night caused $2,000 in damage to a block storage building behind 103 Cumberland St., according to a news release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

The fire in the building, which measured 15 feet by 30 feet, was reported at 6:18 p.m., the release said.

The building is owned by John Brewer III, the release said. Damage to the building was estimated at $1,000 and its contents were valued at $1,000.

Thirty-one firefighters from Clear Spring, Williamsport, Maugansville, Special Operations 20 and Air Unit 25 responded to the blaze, which was brought under control in five minutes, the release said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the fire marshal's office at 301-791-4758.
