GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Herbert M. Busick Jr., 76, a resident of NMS Healthcare, Hagerstown, and formerly of 406 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at the nursing home.

Born Sept. 24, 1932 ,in Binghamton, N.Y., he was the son of the late Herbert M. Busick Sr. and Florence Cox Busick.

He was last employed as supervisor for Kaiser Permanente Construction, Hagerstown.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was a member of Antrim Faith Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Pa., where he was very involved in church activities.

He served as a volunteer firefighter in Salisbury, Md.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Wanda K. Freeman Busick; eight children, Leslie M. Ruckman of Lexington Park, Md., Deborah L. Hudgins of Spokane, Wash., Pastor Herbert S. Busick Sr., Richard W. Busick and Henry E. Pepple, all of Waynesboro, Margaret C. Larimore of Baltimore, Stephen L. Freeman of Shippensburg, Pa., and Corey C. Pepple of St. Thomas, Pa.; 23 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary M. Busick; and one sister, Delores Busick.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Antrim Faith Baptist Church, Waynesboro. Pastor Herbert S. Busick Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, Pa., under the direction of H. Stephen Busick Jr. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Antrim Faith Baptist Church, 6621 Marsh Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
