Road to Recovery Drivers wanted

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Franklin County, Pa., chapter of the American Cancer Society is in need of Road to Recovery Drivers. These are volunteers who offer a little of their time as well as their car to help cancer patients get to and from chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Drivers need a car, insurance and a good driving record. They also can spare a few weekday hours each month to a cancer patient. Drivers will be asked to pick up the patient at his or her home, and provide transportation to and from their treatment facility.

Volunteers will be provided with a short training program.

The Cancer Society will work with the volunteer's schedule. Many trips are only a few miles from the home of the person receiving treatment.
